Schnitzel Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 my caterham is a live axle with 5 speed and now with lowered floor. The gearbox is a T9 with steel bellhousing and spacer all bought from james whiting For me is the gearlever know to far a way. Has any one experience with gearlever extension turret.
CaterBram Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Yup done exactly the same, you have to remove the detent from out of the original selector housing which is easy done and but works spot on,
Schnitzel Posted February 22, 2011 Author Posted February 22, 2011 yes i know this part, does it works or not, thats for the key. how is the shifting. Florian
Eugene Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Yep, I have that extension, with a quick-shift mod too. Works great!
elie boone Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 It depends on how far you want the gearlever to be repositioned. when i changed from 5 speed to 4 speed Type E in a Graduates LX chassis the gearlever needed to be 4 cm further backwards to fit the 5 speed hole in the tunnel. So i had to cut the gearleaver and weld a 4 cm plate in between both parts to make the extension, it worket fine. If it's more than that you do need the piece from e-bay
Schnitzel Posted February 23, 2011 Author Posted February 23, 2011 Thank you all ,so will order this extension. Florian
