myothercarsa2cv Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Long shot but, does anybody have floating around... Forks - anything 100-120mm considered, v bosses a must, old is fine, cheap is best Brakes - Would like some avid v-brake levers if anyone's upgraded to discs? Wheels - deore hubs and Mavic 317's or something like that would be cool Want to make myself a cheapy single speed MTB using an old frame I have. Jon Stewart Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I think i have in the shed: 100mm travel forks (Rock Shox something or other) with v bosses Avid V-brakes and levers (both of late 90's vintage) Merlin built wheels with XT hubs and 717 rims (about 3-4yrs old not many miles) I can have a look tonight for more detail if you're interested 🤔
myothercarsa2cv Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 That would be splendid, thanks - if you have pics, even better. Only problem might be with the forks... I need a reasonably long steerer tube, anything in the region of 180-200mm would be ideal, but I'll have to check the precise minimum... Wheels sound like just the ticket. Jon Stewart Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Will do. Don't know the steerer tube length as it's attached to an old bike but i'll have a look and try and work out. Jon
myothercarsa2cv Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 Crown to top of stem will do, it's not likely to be much more than 10mm shorter than that! Thanks alot, appreciate it! John _________________________ myothercarsa2cv Bugsy: '82 2cv6 😬 Talloulah '08 1.6K Classic
