I've just had my slicks fitted ready for Monday - it is really weird how they inflate and 'grow' almost like an inflatable toy

What pressures should I set them to for a trackday? They are Yokohama, 160/515-13 and 200/550-13. The shape seems to vary a fair bit when the pressure is changed *eek*

At Cadwell my fronts were graining at 18 psi

A drop to 17 psi and all was 😬

the yoko rears have a fair bit o sidewall flex under hard cornering, it would be wise to check the sidewalls for chassis contact during breaks between sessions

I've seen them flex upwards of 25mm and contact the rear radius arms

Also on the Sigma the driver side intrusion bar has a new design which means part of it sticks out further, causing problems with wide slicks. Attention with an angle grinder brings things back in line.

Steve,

Start at 18 psi cold and be carefull on them until you have done a few laps there will be little grip until they have warmed up as they have been stored . When are you on track are there any spare places ?

I was told to set mine at 18 all round and then do a few laps and set them again to 18. After one tame session at Castle Coombe the left tyres were 21 and the rights were 20.

no experience with that particular tyre

however Avon (crossply) seem to perform at 17-18psi warm and 21 all round when hot

Set to 17, do some laps check again and reduce to 21

Look at the trye and consider how they feel and adjust accordingly

ECK 16 IMHO does feel a little to low?
