David Lynch Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Before I badger Darren, does anyone know the size of the 6 small caphead screws that fit old Safety Devices Roadsport cage to the dash flanges? For the rest of the cage it just looks like the later fixing pack ZRC06 will do? I'm hoping I have the correct cage as boot leg ends have a pair of webs rather than a solid bolt boss (as on my FIA bar)? Also, anyone know the fittings associated with the old straight side impact bar SI02? Ta muchly David EN Yorks 7's Flickr
Irrelevant Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I used M6 bolts (though I think I had to ream the holes out a tad). I guess the correct size will be whatever common imperial bolt is just a bit smaller than 6mm. I have the correct cage as boot leg ends have a pair of webs rather than a solid bolt boss What is a boot end? You sure you don't have a live axle cage?
Area Representative Nick Chan Posted August 13, 2010 Area Representative Posted August 13, 2010 Hi David, I think you have a live axle cage there! The cage for a de dion car fits the same as the FIA bar... Nick ----- Back in a BEC! - but done alright in Class 1...
Matthew Willoughby Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 It's easy to tell a live axle Safety Devices cage from a De Dion one. The live axle cages have a double diagonal across the back (like the latest FIA bars) while the de dion ones just have a single digonal.
