Preventing clutch sticking on x-flow??

The clutch plates on my x-flow regularly gets stuck (car doesn't get used as much as I'd like) &, having just freed it up I was wondering whether keeping the pedal depressed whilst it's parked up would cause any problems?

 

I'm thinking it might compress / weaken the clutch springs & maybe cause the clutch to start slipping

if you lay it up for anything over a few weeks, cut a bit of wood to go between pedal and seat to hold it down.
