Going to fit this next week but not sure what fixing points to use ?

Looked on archives but not pics of actual mountings ☹️

Either rear old seat brackets,I have tillets (do I have to drill floor and strengthen ?) or use lap belt fixing points( but not really a six point harness doing it this route ? )

Any pics would be great 😬

TIA *thumbup*

MB,

I have Tilletts and use the old seat mounting brackets at the bottom of the rear bulkhead for my crotch strap. And yes I have drilled through the floor and spaced the gap between the underside of the bracket the floor with washers. The reason for this on mine is that I have had brackets made to support the seats and it is impossible to get the nut on the bolt unless from underside the car.

Sorry no pics though and a carp explanation 😳

Hi Mark,

I am glad you picked it up with no problems. Please let me know how you find it when fitted. *thumbup*

MB,

When I rebuilt my Caterham 2 years ago the floors were seriously bowed and the U-channels underneath had bowed as well. Floors were 15 years old and although the rivets were all in place the holes had seriously stretched.

I had someone make up some supports for the seats (see here about 3/4 down the page on the left) so now the seat rests on these supports and not the floor. However the Tillett is fixed from underneath so I drilled through the support and the floor. IYSWIM

Best with seat out.

I'm fairly certain that on many older cars, early 90s, that the seat did not bolt directly to the floor as they now do. Caterham supplied a seat mount which was supported by the rear lugs and the front cross member .

Maybe, with the advent of crotch straps the rear seat mounts have simply remained and morphed into a different usage?
