Sgt Pepper Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 As reported in Tech Talk: Following on from this thread I have managed to strip the x/flow down today with the help of Brent & Crudders. Let's just say the findings were interesting....... The contents of the sump pan and no. 4 piston can be seen here. Now you know why I said it sounded like a 'bag of nails', and yes that really is a piece of the camshaft! Strangely enough, the cam followers (bits of), push rod and 'bit' of camshaft are all from no. 3 piston area, but the damaged skirt is from no. 4 piston . Looks like the head, block, crank, and con rods and remaining pistons are all absolutely fine and there is absolutely no wear on any of the bores. Ho hum......
