So here's the latest plan. You're going to love it *thumbup*

For the sake of engine longevity, which has a direct connection to my wallet, I am planning on turning my revs down.

So, here are two questions:-

1. I believe the cut-out is at 8650. I'm thinking of turning it back to 8400. Is this likely to have the desired effect?

2. Is it at all feasible to introduce a switch so that I can switch to max revs for track use? Or would this be prohibitevly expensive?

Knock it down to around 7,800, and it may have the desired effect.

But why buy an R500 if you turn the revs down.

It's like buying a 7, and trailering it everywhere! *tongue*

Pertolhead,it's a K R500, dunno which ECU.

Cagey - yes, this is the quandary; I believe that the R400 revs out at 8200, and remains relatively reliable.

It seems to be the gearbox that doesnt like the extra few hundred revs.

Carl, food for thought, but I suspect enthusaism and stupity would get the better of me.

I belive the best option would be a switch, although I havent heard of this being used before and assume that it may not be feasible.

FFS!

Sell the engine and get an R400 engine instead.

Cheaper to keep running, smother at low throttle and so on...

Or could velcro your wallet to the back of the throttle pedal 😬
