Simon.H Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I'd measured the car about a year ago at home using a fairly rudimentary setup and it appeared to be about 505kg with half a tank and no driver (Roadsport at Superlight spec, aero, no heater, etc). Since then all I've really done is ditch the leather seats for a single FG Tillett and change to the 8 spoke wheels (slightly lighter than the KN Minators I had before). Oh, and fit AVOs so I could actually adjust the corner weights. Anyway, I had a bit of an unexpected result last Friday on the scales! With 3/4 of a tank of fuel onboard and no driver, this is what we saw to start with: LF 124 118 RF LR 132 126 RR 500kg total. Awesome! Makes it around 482kg without the fuel (based on 32 litre tank and 0.75kg/litre) 😬 Then with me in the car: LF 127 131 RF LR 148 152 RR 558kg total (I am wee) but most importantly pretty near spot-on left/right weight distribution - by pure fluke. So we left it alone! Maybe could've spent a few hours messing about but hardly worth it for 3-4kg. Pretty chuffed though Simon niknak.org
Mick Day Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Now measure & record the ride heights at each corner & you can replicate this at any time in the future, especially if you change any suspension components.
