Area Representative Crudders Posted September 28, 2000 Area Representative Share Posted September 28, 2000 JKJ, If you haven't already done so, check out an earlier posting of mine on this subject entitled "Crossflow approaching BBE date - waht to do?" You'll find some Zetec advice down there. Crudders
gordon ellis
I`ve got a 190bhp Dunnel 2.0l Zetec. Very nice engine with a lovely power band 5,000-7,200 rpm. Does not start too well when cold on carbs but runs lovely as soon as she`s warm. More than welcome to pop in if your passing Manchester way. JKJ
Thanks Gordon ,I'm in Cumbria so not to far away. I've talked to both James Whiting and Raceline today, and as expected both very enthusiastic about the Zetec replacement engine. Slight difference in the fitted price but that is because one uses a new engine vs the other utilising a second hand unit. I haven't been in touch with Dunnell yet, do they do full installations? Sounds like you're pleased with yours.
Steve W
I used to have xflow and now have a raceline Zetec. I love it. Starts easy from cold on twin 45's, and makes a lovely noise. A bit lumpy a very low rev's but pulls like mad above 3K. Raceline parts are not cheap but very good quality. Check out ford as I got a very resonable short engine from them ? JKJ
What I don't want is a tempramental engine, the crossflow just starts and gets on with it, but my Caterham was bought to replace a Superbike so I would like a bit more power. I must admit I am drawn towards the Raceline installation partly because of the use of a new engine and also some of the ancilliaries they utilise.
