Dickie Normuss Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Has anyone around Milton Keynes / Oxford got a K series engine stand / crate that we can borrow? I'm helping remove an engine and have offered to transport to DVA and it would be preferable if it wasn't rolling around in the back of the car 😬 VX HPC - Loud and proud here Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Colin Powell Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 You might have a better response in the wanted section  Go on then just one more C 4 COL
Graham King Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Ric, when I transported mine I used a euro pallet (slightly smaller then the standard one) that fitted in the back of the car and then ratchet straps to secure the engine to the pallet. Worked with no problem.  Graham. R7 GPK Superlight #85
LazerBrain Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 this is what I did too. I still have the pallet - you're welcome to borrow it, but it's probably cheaper to get one from somewhere closer to you.  cheers, Darren.
Simon-R Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Got plenty of pallets in Cassington, Oxford if you want one 😬 Simon-RÂ
Grubbster Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 I made a simple pallet from a piece of thick ply and some batten. One piece of batten is fixed to the ply so that the engine sits upright on its sump. Another 2 pieces of batten screwed either side of the sump to stop the engine moving. Then a roof rack strap around the engine and under the ply. That was all I did and it was fine, made it much easier to lift and move around as well. Solent Se7ens Web!
