bl0498
After updating my 98 live axle car to progressive Bilsteins I have a complete set of front and rear dampers and springs which are still pretty usable. Please make me an offer! (Gloucester) Brian
Eddie White
Let me know how much. ASAp as we go on holiday soon, and I can get it sorted before we go if "the price is right". Best wishes, Ed
gordon ellis
Just thinking about doing the same thing. Did you see a good improvement ?. Did you swap the suspension round yourself, how easy is this not having built my Caterham.
bl0498
Eddie, How much would you like to pay?? Gordon, The improvement is very noticeable. The car is much nicer with the Bilsteins, generally a bit softer for normal road use and on the track I find its easier to tell when the car is on the limit. Overall worth the £300+ Easy to fit yourself - the front is trickier than the rear. Support the wishbone and simply unbolt the top bolt and the bottom bolt on the upright and insert new components and retorque. Similar at the rear but support the rear axle under the a-frame/diff area. New bolts/nylocs supplied with the kit. You don't need to compress anything to get it to fit! Graham Sewell
Are the Bilsteins height adjustable? Or will I need another day sorting out camber/toe-in??? My live axle has proper double wishbones - so camber is adjustale smile.gif Cheers, Graham
bl0498
Graham, The Bilsteins are not height adjustable - in fact there is no adjustment of any kind on them (well none that I spotted!) They work well though. Brian
