dogvet
What is the best method for deglazing discs ? Where might I get hold of some ECB green pads? Thanks in advance Dogvet.
Casbar
James Whiting sells the pads - 01784241466. You can de-glaze by rubbing with emery cloth, then clean off with white spirit. There have been several threads on this subject in the past, try searching on EBC. Rgds, Robert
CHRIS CLARK
I would be careful with the white spirit as there is an oil content. Try surgical spirit. Available from "Boots" etc it does a fine job & is great at removing sticky label marks etc. ie "Don't park here" ones on the windscreen!!! Alex W. Job lot required!!!!!!!!!!!!! EFA
At the last Norf Kent meeting "Crudnob" had an EBC catalogue and was in conversation with them regarding getting a special deal for Seven owners. He did say that EBC pads eat all discs except some other groved items which are probably made of better quality steel. Crudnobs email is brunero@bigfoot.com Arnie
CHRIS CLARK
Arnie I assume the word is "grooved". Or is a std. knackered disc a groved one ?!!!
I.Mupferit
A couple of years ago HH Frentzen, whilst driving for Williams, had a reputation for knackering discs. And as Williams are based in Grove, the expression 'To grove a disc' obviously comes from that. Obvious when you think about it!
