rgrigsby Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I could be wrong but I think my average speed at Goodwood yesterday from a standing start was 97mph, that's a bit silly really isn't it. Rob G www.SpeedySeven.com
david nelson Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Rob I think your about right. fast or what. David
Matthew Willoughby Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 97mph seems right by my calculations. It was just over 84mph in a Class 1 car. At Curborough our maximum speed isn't as fast as that 😳 ASBO orange 1.6 VX - now with ASBO-blog
Chris101 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Local folklore at Goodwood says that an 88 second flying lap is an average of 100mph. Flying laps are generally 4.5 seconds quicker than standing start laps ❗ So all those with times under 92.5 seconds probably averaged over 100mph - if local folklore is to be believed 😬 😬 😬 If only everything in life was as simple as a 7!!
Martin S. Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Good result Chris You wont have it as easy at Llandow Class 4 Zetec
robmar Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Martin - it was all the sneaky practice he gets as a GRRC member 😬
Martin S. Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Glad I didn't come now 😬 On a more serious note, how did the supersofts perform?
Tam Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Michael drove to the venue on his, and whilst it's fair to say that he wasn't best pleased with his Goodwood performance, I don't think he can blame the tyres They seemed to perform well, and they were fine in the wet conditions driving to the venue See you at Llandow. Chris101 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Martin - sounds like you are getting competative 😳 It didn't go un-noticed that you and our Competition Secretary chose to stay away from the circuit I know quite well 😬 😬 Last year at Llandow you were over 5 seconds quicker than me ☹️ so lots for me to do Looking forward to the challenge - how are those super sticky soft tyres *smile* If only everything in life was as simple as a 7!!
Adrian Williams Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I've added a video on the club site below: http://my.lotussevenclub.com/Videos/VideoPlayer/TabId/487/VideoId/19/Goodwood-T2.aspx It's my second timed run where I had fuel starvation between No Name and St Mary's, at the time I thought I'd blown it up Thanks to Chris for his advice on lines in a couple of places it certainly made a deifference to the time. Adrian
Adrian Williams Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Thanks Malcolm I must learn how to do those. Adrian
