deeps
At last some decent sport on the box, Le Tour 2002 starts today, yes I know, drugs and all. Deeps smile.gif Deep down you know it makes sense.idea.gif
Gary G
Deeps, glad to see someone else interested in the Tour. Good prologue today. Result was as expected but it looks like David Millar is serious about finishing in a decent place. I'm well chuffed that Phil Ligget and other bloke who's name escapes me are back in the commentary box on ITV2. I had to put up with Eurosport coverage last year which was pretty poor. deeps
I haven't watched it on ITV-2 yet but Phil Liggett usually has Paul Sherwen as his sidekick, like you say a predictable result. Try herefor good coverage.smile.gif Deeps Roll on the mountain stages
Gary G
That's the chap - Paul Sherwin. Roll on the mountains indeedy. I will never forget the Delgado/Roche battles of the late 80's - superb. I just hope someone challenges Armstrong in the mountains to ensure that we are entertained. C7 GAR id=red>

Al Duncan
Read in paper today that jan ullrich was caught drunk driving (i think i heard this before) but was also found to have amphetimine in his system from popping pills at a Disco. what a shame that he seems to have gone off the rails because he is widely regarded(by armstrong too) as one of the most naturally gifted riders in the peleton. lets hope he can get it together! deeps
At least he has come clean about it and admits he's been a prat. I can't help but wonder though why a random drugs test was decided on at that time... He's looking at a 6 to 12 months ban by his own cycling federation regardless of what the UCI give him. deeps
The Spanish ONCE team won yesterdays team time and their rider Galdeano has the yellow jersey, all the big guns are cruising in the pack. Gary G
Deeps, I've switched to watching on Eurosport at 6:30pm so I can join in on these chats!! What do you reckon David Millar's chances in the mountains are? C7 GAR id=red>
Geoff Johnson
I've always loved watching it, the tactics can be pretty cool. The way that some riders make themselves expendable amazes me, all that effort when you know there will be no return! Stuart O'Grady's heart rate the other day 235!!!!! Very scary Geoff J392PPD VX & Flares how untrendy can I be?
Nick Woods
Its a pity good old channel 4 have seen fit to show Big Brother instead of le Tour mad.gif. And I dont have (or want) satellite. deeps
I love the way O'Grady casually commented that that his normal racing heartbeat is between 135 and140. As for Millar, 23rd overall at 1' 40" down, I think he can do one good day in the mountains. He is at least two years away from staying with the likes of Lance when the hammer goes down, but time is on his side. Shame to see Tom steels abandon and Cipo's team didn't even get an invite. deeps
Well thats it for another year, a pretty predictable win for Armstrong after the first days in the mountains. Best result I think was Robbie McEwan taking the Green Jersey. Will Lance make it five in a row next year....probably. Deeps Deep down you know it makes sense. Al Duncan
well pleased for RMcE hes been on the verge of toppling zabel for a couple of years now im goin to have to get Sky. if only for these 3 weeks in a year it would be worth it.
Hibster.
Strange, cycles without cycle wings, it just goes to show that flares are better. Bikes should have motors for all the same reasons that Se7ens are not pedal powered (well OK I'm sure some Westfields have pedal power as a back up just in case). Perhaps Westfield drivers shave their legs too, Blatman I've never studied your lower limbs so you'll have to forgive me 😬 Paul "I had a car like that before the war"
