Nick Woods
Dose anyone know of a good 7-friendly MOT station in the Norwich area ? My 1996 kit-built 7 is going through the usual wrangles over the cat and side repeaters and I'm wondering where else to take it. Its not being Mot'd just yet, I just happened to mention it when booking it in and got all the grief that everyone else seems to have about these items - I'm confident about the cat now having spoken to Caterham but I think I'm going to struggle with the repeaters so am looking for somewhere else. Ernie Panks
Have a word with Steve Wright, he takes his to an enthusiasts testing station. The owner is building a twin engined Tiger at the moment, so he just loves anything to do with a real 7. If your car has an LSD, do mention it at the time of test cos if you put an LSD equipped car on a standard Brake Tester, it can really screw things up. Nick Woods
Thanks chaps. After a prolonged battle, where I had to go back three times to find the right section in his testing book he has finally relented and sees that he cant do a cat test on it. He's still holding out over the side repeaters but I cant really argue against that because even Caterham are saying I probably ought to fit them. I ordered the bits yesterday, they arrived today (great service !) and I shall be taking a good look at your cars on Sunday to see where the wires go ! Thanks BTW to Zoe at Caterham aftersales for her help with this, it took several calls from me to her and back again to sort this out. Also (off topic but there is a thread elsewhere) do you know the owner of a black f-reg in Norwich ? Area Representative Steve Wright Posted October 26, 2021 Area Representative Share Posted October 26, 2021 Good grief! That must be something of a record thread resurrection!Because it's not recorded here, the Garage in question was Gorse Motors near Barnham, Thetford, Norfolk:https://www.gorsemotors.co.ukIt's getting on for 20 years ago, so I've no idea whether it's still operated by the same guy. We moved away from that area many years ago. Anyway, thought I ought to close the loop.Glad Peter was able to help you
