Peter T
I am really P**sed off, not only has my M5 engine just let go, now looking at my trusty caterham motor which has also let me down(no), yes it has developed a nice leak of oil from the dry sump pump, also after a head off job it decided to drop one of the inlet valve guides! Now stuck with nothing to drive at all? Still i must look on the bright side and at least i have a fridge full of beer. Can things only get better? Peter T
No, i removed the head to fit stronger ARP head studs as the current ones are letting the gasket weep, while the head was off i decided to clean and check the valves, after removing no 2 exhaust the guide decided to part company with the head! SteveP
Peter, What were you doing to the M5 to blow the engine!! I thought they were bullet proof. SteveP
Peter T
Steve the left hand vanos unit partially seized causing metal particles to find themselves into the sump, then the big end bearings started to seize, anyway the car is under warranty, and a new V8 is sitting in a cradle awaiting fitment.
