Violet Elizabeth
Has anyone taken their "best friend" as a passenger in a seven ? I need to a) Walk the dog b) Walk to the local garage to pick up the 7 from its little wing welding job. Now being as lazy git I think I can combine the two. And save myself some time to watch some more women play tennis....er, I mean work very hard from home....obviously. Obviously he will be strapped in, but I am not sure if he should wear goggles. Al Crickmore
Wide open for comments about your passenger being a right Dog. You would be duty bound to 'bite' at any such remark though wouldn't ya Nodge? wink.gif
Oh blimey
Be careful of the D's B's if you have a 6 point harness !!
John Richens
I hope he's not a Westie...
Violet Elizabeth
A westie - No, he has a pedigree tongue.gif Ha Ha ! Dog has a chest harness, kind of canine 4-pointer, which I think can be fixed to the cars 4-pointer. Al - he, he ! Think of the benefits, the dog weighs much less than the missus, and probably won't mind as much when he gets splattered with horse muck. Plus I can use his ears to polish things. This actualy was a serious question. He likes sticking his head out of normal car window, but is he going to like doorless aeroscreening ?

Violet Elizabeth
Nikki Lauda...LAUDA...L A U D A etc He is called Scrumpy. And he didn't get a go. Have made interesting discovery about the use of nose cones. They stop the "bonnet" contacting a little "bit" on the front carb. So if you drive a mile to the local garage without one on, you get a little dint in your shiny bonnet.
Gary G
Noger, I'm sure it's sick bird (ill Eagle) to drive without a nose cone!?smile.gif C7 GAR id=red> Edited by - Gary G on 25 Jun 2002 20:33:
Barbara Swift
Last time we did the Swiss trip there was a car with Swiss driver - brown hair - yellow headband and in the passenger seat brown labrador with yellow headband, dog looked very happy. I do have a photo but don't know how to post it - non techno biddy that I am!
Delberts Wallet
I've taken one of our Labradors for a ride in the Caterham. Seemed to love it, she sits there facing forward until we stop at traffic light etc and then turns around to look at the people in the car behind us. She wears a harness which is plugged into a standard seat belt clip, save them from jump out and chasing Westies wink.gif Gareth Who Dares Twins bum.gif bum.gif
Tam
We took Mike's parent's spaniel for a short ride to the park. She sat on my lap (at very low slow speeds), ears flapping in the breeze. Let's face it - dogs love sticking their heads out of car windows, so save them the bother and put them in a Caterham (a la Gareth's and the Swiss labradors!) [need emoticaon to sumbolise ears flapping in breeze] teeth.gif
Morls
When I had a Metro, (almost 7s content for K typessmile.gif ), my dog was sick the first time out but then fine. Much better in fact than most girlfriendswink.gif. On "On any Sunday", a dog wearing goggles completes a 1500 mile desert race... Sat clinging on to the petrol tank of an old bike. Andy G
Used to have a labrador who on the open road would sit on the back seat ( the car was a VW)looking out the front windscreen and leaning into the corners, of course when we got to the towns he would go berserk barking at any other dogs he saw, but thats labs for you. Geoff Dixon
Take my dog out all the time in the 7. He loves it, sometimes has trouble keeping his balance and has been known to go flying onto the floor. Still he cant stay out of the car - dives inot it at every chance. What chance a dog discount for next years Le Mans trip ?
Jim and Tonic
Of course, according to Quentin Willson, we're all barking anyway. Jim and Tonic "Mine's a large one" smile.gif
Buda
Raced the dog once, private road and all that, she set off slightly after me, immediatley overtook me and then I pulled away, thus I conclude she's got a better power to weight ratio than the 7. Stupid hairy big boney thing that she is.
