EssexBoy
even though they were down to 10 men we got beaten by a weak goal thumbsdown.gif
Violet Elizabeth
Brazil were the better side. But england looked like winning for the first half. And against the probable winners, that ain't bad. As long as Germany don't get much further I am happy tongue.gif
EssexBoy
the second half was a disapointment, not enough pushes in to the 6 yard box
James Saunders
Every game England have seemed weaker in the second half. Obviously Sven isnt feeding them weetabix their!

V7 SLR
What was that substitution all about then? Why take Owen off? thumbsdown.gif 5-live commentators went almost apoplectic at that point. I thought they were going to take a contract out on Seaman for the second goal too.
dino ferrana
Brazil didn't look that good in the second half they didn't really have to defend we just had no imagination. Guys where did all that passion go?
Violet Elizabeth
Owen was off the pace midway through the second half. So guess Sven had to gamble. Sherringham and Vassel did nothing though. Just hope we don;t get the typical anti-Seamen/gooner stuff. But hey, they are a young side. And they got to the last 8 of the world cup. Nope, I can't cheer myself up. EssexBoy
Just hope we don;t get the typical anti-Seamen/gooner stuff. to late the bbc site is quoting the goal as a Seaman mistake......that can happen to any bloke wink.gif
First Man
Gutted. But, at the end of the day, we were outclassed. Seaman doesn't deserve flack - he has been outstanding throughout the tournament; just a shame he goes out of, probably, his last world cup on a bit of a downer. First Man. murph7355
Seaman did have a good tournament BUT at this level, playing for the ultimate trophy, no one can afford to make a mistake. And he made a mistake. I could almost have got on a plane to Japan and saved that it was in the air so long. Either he forgot where he was standing or he wasn't watching the ball... Shame Ronaldhino McDonaldhino didn't get sent off about 30mins earlier. Ah well. England didn't deserve to win and are out to the likely champions so no huge shame there. Dino's spot on - they just lost that drive that got them there in the first place.

Violet Elizabeth
Ah, that Tim tongue.gif smile.gif .... Tiger Tim. Let us not forget Nyyim (?) who wrong footed seamen a few years back from the halfway line. Is it weakness ? Overall he made some brilliant saves, particularly against the argies. And yes, we didn't deserve to win on that performance. But that doesn't make it any easier. I KNOW they could have done better.

Toby
At least we were given the immortal commentary line of ' the ball was covered by Semen'. Perhaps that was why he was so reluntant to stop the ball!

Mark Durrant
Brazil got a lucky goal and now it looks like the German's could win it, the only upside is that the Scots did'nt even qualify. I am not anti-Scottish but given some of the comments made by the Jocks wishing everyone and his brother to beat England I have no alternative. Ade Ray
I am so depressed. It's going to take a truck load of ice-cream to cheer me up (chocoloate & Vanilla). I dont think anyone anticipated that the free kick would end up like that. Seaman has my sympathies. The team did not play well in the second half and Sven was right when saying you could not afford to have an 90% day when playing Brazil. I'm still depressed though sad.gif I am going to have to go and sit in Katie The 1600 Xflow for 1/2 an hour to cheer myself up. I'll probably have to go for a drive. Maybe an hour then.
