Eric McLoughlin
Are there on-site camping facilities available? If not, what is available locally regarding campsites or B & B?
Jason Plato
There is camping facilities available within the circuit on a nice flat field with pretty decent toilets , pubs are about 3/4 mile away , plus secure parking for our babies teeth.gif within the locked paddock overnite . If you want B&B - best do a search on google or such like ....... dave
allegro
Eric If it's anywhere near Bridgend engine plant, then it depends on how much you want to spend. There is a travel lodge at junction 35 M4. £35ish per night. Or The Heronstone nearer Bridgend with swimming pool, sauna and all the goodies £60ish or a bit further out at Porthcawl, which is by the sea, loads of bars n stuff and I think they pay you to stay there. robmar
Dave - are you saying we can actually camp on the circuit site? do you know what they will charge as this sounds like a mighty good plan. also do the marshals have to have any kind of experience/training I know there is a decent camp site around the corner opposit the scrapyard
Jason Plato
Yes I have arranged for us to be able to camp on site behind locked ( after 11pm) gates for free , in what would be the public carpark by day . The cars can also be left ( if you wish ) in the paddock which is about 30 meters from your tent , again behind another locked gate . dave
John
There is also a public campsite next door (owned by the circuit owners I think). It has electric hook up and nice showers / bogs etc and a shop - but screaming kids...Uhhhhh John
robmar
Dave - excellent, somewhere to kip during the day when all the fun just gets too much. Are the gates climbable, I only ask in case we are lat back from the pub. Not that I would be drinkin gthe night before a sprint blush.gif rob
Eric McLoughlin
Thanks for the camping details - looks like it's tent time again. I presume it's just a matter of turning up on Saturday evening and setting up?
Jason Plato
Eric - yeah , if you turn up saturday nite then that will be fine . Or of course you could come earlier and enjoy the trackday on saturday - open pitlane £65 . Please contact the circuit direct for booking this . The gates are your 5 bar variety , so long as your beer googles arent working too well , then they shouldnt be a problem wink.gif dave
