its even better when you:

1) go with a mate who introduces you to lots of nice local roads (cheers miraz!)

2) your car is a *little* rich and shoots 6 foot gouts of flame!

3) because you are using an aeroscreen/no doors you can really see the flames!

can't wait to get my car fixed again....

actually - look at it this way - is there ever a time when taking the seven was actually a *bad* decision? smile.gif

if its p155ing down then you can't blat that hard or you'll end up meeting mr hedge.

I'll drive in the rain if i need to get somewhere, and i'll get a bit wet. but its the hot summer night blats that are really fun!

Although I've done convoys of 20 sevens through long tunnels - thats pretty good fun too biggrin.gif

i nominate Andy to lead the way in Stockholm this year as well! teeth.gif

For those of you that havn't tried it I'd recommend the Hatfield tunnel on the A1 around J5 or something. Get about 20 sevens, start at 3000 rpm in 2nd and then all of you nail it all the way through! Sweet Music! smile.gif

Went for my first convoy in a caterham (well there were 2 of us) we both floored it through the tunnel on the A 27?? out of Brighton - lovely.

Now 20+ through the hatfield tunnel would really be something, it's just down the road from where I keep my car, let me know if you're going to do it again!

For those of us not posh enough to live anywhere near Hatfield, the Medway Tunnel in Gillingham is about 3/4 of a mile long with little traffic to spoil the noise/speed, with a long roundabout at each end. It's rumoured to have been designed by a 7 owner....

Rich

I've never heard of Hatfield itself being described at posh, some of the surrounding villages yes and Hatfield old town is quite nice. I think on balance the tunnel is the best bit smile.gif
