AMMO
Unfortunately I put a hole in my sump this morning (Saturday). Local ali welder not back at work until Wednesday (he was picking strawberries when I 'phoned him on his mobile). I was hoping he might pop into work over the hols. Oil all over the drive after I parked. Scratched wing with bonnet in haste to check oil level as I'd driven some miles without realising my predicament. Luckily still some oil in there. Don't think I've done any damage to the engine. Can you imagine how I feel? Was hoping to go to the Cornwallis on Monday. I'll just sit at home and sulk instead. Slarty Blat Fast
Sorry to hear that, Ammo. Also about scratching the wing. It's always worse when you have no one to blame it on. The only reason I'm not out driving is because I've returned from an extended blat. Hope the ally welder knows what he's doing. AMMO
Slarty. Weather still perfect. Car still broken. Will crawl underneath tomorrow to take sump off ready for welding (welder is ace). Have only myself to blame for the wing. Scratch not too deep. Might T-Cut out. I wouldn't mind so much if it was peeing with rain and the roads weren't empty. I have no interest in football, the monarchy and Big Brother. Bored, bored, bored. AMMO
Slarty Blat Fast
Yesterday was a great day for a blat. I went out while England was playing. The lanes were deserted apart from a few old f@rts who either (a) moved over and waved me on (they're the best aren't they?) (b) never knew what passed them or © deliberately make life difficult doing whatever they can to slow you down while watching you in the mirror. 100 miles with the doors off and I was sh@gged out, getting home just in time to miss the footie. Perfect timing. Are we the only two who are completely uninterested in football? I'm not anti- it, I just don't care. Hope you get the sump fixed soon. FH
Are we the only two who are completely uninterested in football? I'm not anti- it, I just don't care. No. Me too tongue.gif but like Blatman, I admit to checking virtually all the topics, even footie and "Spotted in ....." - because we have such a wonderful propensity for going off-topic/thread hi-jacking teeth.gif FH It's raining sad.gif Edited by - fullharness on 3 Jun 2002 14:18:
AMMO
Slarty Football is the opiate of the masses (Keith Allen, Lefty rich bloke, actor/comedian, writer of some wretched football song, quoted in the Times Saturday supplement). I just don't get it. Never have. I have friends who I respect who are crazy about footie. I think there is something wrong with them sometimes. FH Although really bored I didn't check the footie thread. Did gardening instead. I hate gardening but it kept the missus happy. It's not raining here. Car still broken. Thread-jacking is an art form. I like the ones that start as chit chat and go all technical (and vice versa). That's how conversations with real live human beings sometimes go. Something gets triggered and off they go at a tangent. Life is great, even with a hole in your sump. AMMO
Foxy Smith
Ammo Whilst you are at it get that tank welded up and then you can go twice as far. PS you are not the only one stuck in the garden! (Building a new garage for the Seven :)
Gary G
Me no like footie either. I live next door to a Spurs player, but pay no attention to him (apart from his cars) but my work mates who all support Spurs think it is really cool and want to come over to my place to peer at him over the fence!! BORING. C7 GAR id=red>
scooby dooby doo
you must live pretty close to me then? I'm about 20 minutes walk away from Arsenal... should i give you a shout if i fancy a blat? Dave Hooper - North London dmch2@lineone.net
Gary G
Dave, I'm in South Woodford (if you know it?) Definitely give me a shout for a blat. I regularly go for blats with some of the Essex boys and we are planning to "DO" the A507 which is a bit closer to you at some point this summer. Are you the same Dave I met at the BMW dealership in North London last summer looking at the New Mini? C7 GAR id=red>
scooby dooby doo
asking multimap suggests you're a fair distance off in rush hour traffic...sad.gif OTOH next time i blat off to Cambridge / Essexwards you're not far off the route! I mmet the cam7 lot every few weeks typically. thats assuming south woodford = south woodford....? nr M4/M11 junction? Mark Piper
Gary, which Spurs player do you live next to? Dave, S Woodford's nowhere near the M4 junction, but is at the base of the M11, as the crow flies about 15 minutes in good traffic from Ratrace, 4 hours in bad traffic..... scooby dooby doo
sorry - why did I write M4 there? I meant to put north circular. or possibly A406... i think i'm going mad! Dave Hooper - North London dmch2@lineone.net
Gary G
Mark, he's called Anthony Gardner. I believe he's a defender and has played quite a few times over the last couple of months. It's very funny to see my next-door neighbour on the telly!! Dave, so are you the bloke I met at the BMW dealership last summer?? scooby dooby doo
sorry - missed your BMW question as well... No - I don't think i've ever been in a BMW shop. Dave Hooper - North London dmch2@lineone.net
Slarty Blat Fast
When I lived in Woodford Greenid=green> we described it as being on the verges of Epping Forest. Now you guys define it as being at the base of the M11 on the North Circular. Jeez no wonder I moved to Devon. But in those days Winston Churchill was our MP and the Sarfend Arterial Road went past Charlie Brown's roundabout when Charlie Brown was still serving Beans on Toast (a speciality) and all the bikers road Triumph Thunderbirds and Arial Square Fours. And Colin begat the 7. "Sic transit gloria mundi" (loosely translated means "Gloria threw up in the van two days ago"). This mornihg was a stonking day for a cross-country blat. Did 50 miles on the lanes before breakfast. Where is this thread leading? Absolutely no hitchhikersthumbsdown.gif
