Something has broken inside the handbrake handle, the button will not come out and no end of fiddling around has helped, have sprayed with gt 85 and removed shroud ( its an under dash one)cant see much! have ordered a new lever assembly and need advice on fitting it, something has definitely broken inside, the bit that engages with the ratchet just waggles about loosely. *confused*

I'm taking the ferry over to Rotterdam on the 15th for a trip to the Ring so would lie a working handbrake.

camped over at stoneleigh last weekend, green n yellow stripe with flares, *wavey*Hi all I met, Cracking weekend, had great drive home back up thru Buxton, glossop, holmefirth back to near Bingley *cool*

If you don't get it fixed by the time you travel, just tell the guys on the ferry and they should put the car out of the way and chock the wheels - first gear should hold it anyway. Had a return journey on that route a few weeks back and they always manage to put the Se7en in a decent safe place - if you have one of the club cabins think you can request priority boarding and embarkation, which puts you in that three-car area next to the loading door.

When I bought a new one it was straight and my home vice was not up to bending it. I had to call on an expert with Big Tools to do it (thanks again, Brent *wavey*).

The button on mine sometimes stays in but a sharp tap with a hammer fixes it *thumbup* It sounds like your problem is a bit more serious.

I had a similer problem with mine; it turned out the pin/bit that engages the rachet had gone past the last notch on the rachet. I unscrewed the button and pulled on the bar with a pair of long nose pliers and it freed it up.

Might be worth a try.

Jas.
