Fitting 2 DIN sockets to the dash.

I want to fit two cigarette lighter sockets to the dash. My electrical knowledge is very poor There are 2 connectors 1 pos 1 neg I assume. Do I have to connect directly to the battery or can I get power from elswere?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

You have two options.

1. Connect direct to the battery (using an inline fuse) - Useful for battery conditioners etc.

2. Connect via fuse box - either on permanent feed, or a switched feed.

What will the socket be used for?

You are correct about the connectors. IIRC, usually the middle pin is the live.

I will be using it to power my bullet cam and run a battery conditioner

Why fit two *confused*

The camera runs when the car does and the battery conditioner charges the battery when the car is stopped. This only ever requires one thing to be plugged in.
