Alan Bowler Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Have fitted the Think Auto mechanical OP guage and sender (hurrah - I now have confirmation of oil pressure after going thru 3 leccy senders). The extra switch is set for 35 psi (I think). Before I wire it up, I checked, and it appears it will be just about on or thereabouts at hot idle. I can't see a way of adjusting it down a bit. Do people live with this, not both wiring it up, or is 35 psi at idle on the low side (I have an apollo tank)? Thanks AB
CageyH Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 I think there is a small screw (or cap head screw) down the middle, where you can tweek it.... Only dead fish go with the flow....!
shn7 Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 There is indeed a small grub screw for adjusting the setting. Steve. Sussex (West) AR Not forgetting Percy the Polar Bear
John Vine Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Alan, Apologies for this little hijack, but is your gauge the black-faced one? If so, when did you get it? I ask as I ordered the usual kit (as per 7FAQ) a couple of weeks ago, and Think have told me that the black-faced gauge is currently out of stock, with orders on their suppliers unfulfilled since September (apparently). JV
CageyH Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Try Merlin Motorsport here for the Mocal gauge. Only dead fish go with the flow....!
Alan Bowler Posted December 7, 2007 Author Posted December 7, 2007 Thanks for the tip - will crawl about and have a look for the adjusting screw. John - yes, I have the black faced dial. I bought it from them in person on 16/11. Very helpful they were too. Not sure what the stock problem is then AB
John Vine Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Thanks, chaps. I called Merlin. They have the gauge in stock, and they get them from Think. So, I need to call Think again on Monday. Interestingly, it appears that the gauge is made by Caerbont, the repeated failure of whose sender led me down this path in the first place! JV
CageyH Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 But it should be mechanical.... No sender failure. Only dead fish go with the flow....!
