david nelson Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 I have just got my blue book and looked under tyres. Stunners are not listed. does this mean you can not use them for next year? David
Graham Perry Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 The rule always was that they have to be on this years list or last years one. Has that rule changed ?
KenEvans Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 There's a lot of discussion about this in other areas. 2009 will be dire, no Stunners and catalytic converters, I feel a single seater coming on! This is what John Loudon, a Westfield competitor, has written to the MSA and there's more here Mike Smith initiative Dear Sirs, I am a sprint and hillclimb competitor who competes in a roadgoing car utilising list 1A tyres from the MSA year book. For the last 2 seasons the preferred tyre of choice for both myself and my fellow clubman competitors has been a brand of tyre called Stunner Scudo. I have noticed that the online version of the 2008 MSA year book has omitted this tyre from the proposed list of 1A tyres for 2008. It is about this matter that I am writing to you with much concern. The Stunner range of tyres are still manufactured by Marangoni and are still commercially available throughout Europe although not the primary marketed range of tyre from Marangoni. Myself and many of my fellow competitors have stocks of good usable supplies of Stunner tyres and indeed many of us have recently purchased new tyres of this brand in readiness for next season. If these tyres are removed from list 1A for 2008, many of my fellow clubman competitors and I will be forced to retire good usable tyres and purchase new tyres of a different brand. For obvious reasons, this is not financially and evironmentally viable for what is supposed a clubman level sport. With this in mind, I would kindly ask the MSA to reconsider the deletion of the Stunner Scudo tyre from the 2008 1A list of permittable tyres and to allow their inclusion for the forthcoming year or until this range of tyres supplies have been fully exhausted. Kind regards, John Loudon
peterg Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 I feel a single seater coming on! then you'll be up against Ash Mason again...

bl0498 Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Graham, The rule has not changed hence Stunners were always OK in our championship for 2008. Given that what Steve has posted indicates they are officially back in for 2008 then Stunners will be OK for 2009 too under our current rules. Best Regards, Brian
