I need a spare Rover ECU eu2 ( coil pack on inlet side of engine ), to use whilst mine is away with Caterham to upgrade to Supersport spec.

I have a spare EU2 SS ecu/immobiliser/plippers you could borrow. I'm not aware of the pre/post coil pack differences though... My 7 has a coil that looks like a small mains transformer, bolted low down on the inlet side of the block.

cheers,

Darren.

Aghhhh!!

Just been told by Caterham that they can't upgrade EU2's, just EU3's. So now I need to purchase a Supersport ECU EU2 ( coil pack mounted on inlet side of engine, with IACV ), with imobiliser and plipper.

Anyone upgraded to an Emerald recently?

Thomas Rossell should have one going spare, once I've found time to rebuild his engine, as he is going Emerald.

I'll post him the link...

ivaan, just buy an emerald, at £600 it will probably be cheaper, the supersport maps are available and there will be no need for new impbiliser

good for the next upgrade too

John - thanks for the heads-up. I'd really appreciate you passing the message on.

Tiddly - already spent too much money on the car this Christmas. ☹️Looking for a cheaper option for this year.

Ivaan, I am the Thomas mentionned by John *wavey*. At the moment I had a first dibs from someone overseas . However, if it becomes available you are second in line *thumbup*

but be aware that if it is available, it will be towards the end of February.

Also good to know, you don't need new blippers as any Rover workshop can match your existing immobiliser to the ECU for a small fee *thumbup*

Ivaan,

I have a rover ECU form a 1998 1800k Supersport. My engine has the coil on the side as described. I have replaced this with an Emerald so it is surplus to my requirements. I'm happy to sell your this but would prefer to keep the imobiliser and plippers.
