Ivaan Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 I need a spare Rover ECU eu2 ( coil pack on inlet side of engine ), to use whilst mine is away with Caterham to upgrade to Supersport spec.
Hurtle Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 I have one from an Elise S1 if its any use? Jas
Englishmaninwales Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Ivaan I have a spare EU2 SS ECU for loan, but is pre coil pack and suits 1994 car. I'm unsure if it's compatible? Malcolm
LazerBrain Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I have a spare EU2 SS ecu/immobiliser/plippers you could borrow. I'm not aware of the pre/post coil pack differences though... My 7 has a coil that looks like a small mains transformer, bolted low down on the inlet side of the block. cheers, Darren.
Ivaan Posted December 1, 2007 Author Posted December 1, 2007 Thanks for all the offers. Just shows what a great club this is. Malcolm, YHM
Ivaan Posted January 7, 2008 Author Posted January 7, 2008 Aghhhh!! Just been told by Caterham that they can't upgrade EU2's, just EU3's. So now I need to purchase a Supersport ECU EU2 ( coil pack mounted on inlet side of engine, with IACV ), with imobiliser and plipper. Anyone upgraded to an Emerald recently? Clive
John Howe Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Thomas Rossell should have one going spare, once I've found time to rebuild his engine, as he is going Emerald. I'll post him the link... JH Deliveries by Saffron, the yellow 230bhp Sausage delivery machine
tiddy1 Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 ivaan, just buy an emerald, at £600 it will probably be cheaper, the supersport maps are available and there will be no need for new impbiliser good for the next upgrade too Simon
Ivaan Posted January 8, 2008 Author Posted January 8, 2008 John - thanks for the heads-up. I'd really appreciate you passing the message on. Tiddly - already spent too much money on the car this Christmas. ☹️Looking for a cheaper option for this year.
Miura Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Ivaan, I am the Thomas mentionned by John . At the moment I had a first dibs from someone overseas . However, if it becomes available you are second in line but be aware that if it is available, it will be towards the end of February. Also good to know, you don't need new blippers as any Rover workshop can match your existing immobiliser to the ECU for a small fee
Robin C Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Ivaan, I have a rover ECU form a 1998 1800k Supersport. My engine has the coil on the side as described. I have replaced this with an Emerald so it is surplus to my requirements. I'm happy to sell your this but would prefer to keep the imobiliser and plippers.
Ivaan Posted January 10, 2008 Author Posted January 10, 2008 Robin YHM. Thomas, I'll keep you informed of any developments. Cheers.....Clive 😬
