ultrasound testing a block

Hi Anyone know where I can get the bores on my x/flow block ultrasoud tested for wall thickness ,before going for a rebore,regards Geoff

Bullman,

Unless I am missing something, it shouldn't be necessary; based on the block type - 711 or AX - and the current bore size, any half decent x-flow buildershould be able to tell you how close you are to the maximum sensible bore for that block type.

i thought ultrasonic testing was to look for cracks

Ultrasonics will pick up an interface - either a crack or a metal/liquid/air - hence will do either (with the right kit) 😶‍🌫️
