Irrelevant Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 It's about £300 I think. Powder Puff hired it recently. Ask him if nobody else comes along with info.
Powderpuff Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 You need to talk to David Pattison - course secretary - 07976 878652 (I try to phone at lunch time so as not to disturb David at work) It's £450 for the day from memory. The name's Puff, Powder Puff N7XTC
DSL Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Itchin to try it out now its nearly ready then Rob I would take it out on the road a good few times in the dry 😬 to get used to the gear change, light clutch, revs etc, not to mention the power difference 😳 Bear in mind that when it breaks tyre traction, due to the free reving nature of the motor it will spin up very quickly from there on, with big sideways consequences unless pointed more or less in a straight line at that time Enjoy
robmar Posted November 13, 2007 Author Posted November 13, 2007 DSL - hence the desire to first try it somewhere with a lack of oncoming traffic first 😬 you interested in coming along showing me how it all works, bring one or several of your cars 🤔
A10ROX Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Hi Rob If you're thinking of a weekend and need anyone to make the numbers up I could be interested ... fitting Nitrons and wouldn't mind finding the 'right' set up A10ROX now garaged with D10ROX (Red GT3)!
robmar Posted November 13, 2007 Author Posted November 13, 2007 Mr Rox - sure will let you know what i get sorted
apjenkins Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Could be interested in joining you if it is in the new year? @ndrew
david nelson Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Rob I will be intreasted. Looking forward to trying the new engine.. David
Area Representative Nick Chan Posted November 13, 2007 Area Representative Posted November 13, 2007 Rob, It cost us £410 for a weekday when we hired it in May or June (Tues/Wed/Thurs only) for upto 10 cars to go on. Or for a Saturday when its a testday I think and around 35-40 cars can attend its closer to £600 with an MSA chappie who came along to test us for noise ☹️ Nick The BEC has gone - now onto an R400!!
Englishmaninwales Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 As Nick says, avoid booking on a Saturday ☹️ Rob, Im always up for a days practice at Curb Malcolm
Dannyboy Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Same here Rob!! 😬 Will need to get used to stickier rubber methinks! Dannyboy
Don Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Depending on whether the engine's in the car at the time, another interested party here!!
Mrs Kipper Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 And me 😬 Kipper Fun is not a straight line.
robmar Posted November 14, 2007 Author Posted November 14, 2007 ok - those on here I have noted, plus a couple off line not actually booked yet, but looking likely to be in December sometime will let you all know Rob
robmar Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 OK talked with David yesterday, process is nice and simple was looking at 11th December, Will be run as 2 * 5 car sessions, one in the am and one in the PM. Due to the lack of light it was suggested 9-12 and 1-4 with 2 batches of cars. Cost will be £225 per session or for the mathematically challenged 45 quid each per session. Unlimited drivers but just 5 cars so far I have the following people interested Adrian Williams David Nelson Darren Luke (possibly) Mr A10ROX Malcolm Danny Boy WindyCat- With Mr Windy? Mr Kipper Jeff Smith Does the date work for everyone, and if so what is everyones preference (I suspect the Pm session). Rob Edited by - robmar on 16 Nov 2007 19:12:13
Englishmaninwales Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Rob 10 cars for the whole day at £450 is better value, rather than 5 per session. There is plenty of track time even with 10 cars. Malcolm
robmar Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 Malcolm - that is just what Dave Patterson told me, I assumed it was always like that Jeff Noted
Adrian Williams Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Rob Dates fine, agree with Malcolm that 10 cars for the day is a better than 2 lots of 5 cars per half day. Adrian
Englishmaninwales Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Rob Ive done several of these days at Curb, and it has always been 10 cars for the whole day (unless they've suddenly changed the rules!) malcolm
Silver 21 Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Rob Space for a 21? Graham Looking for a new vocation in life or is that a vacation
Blokko Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 I went to a session @ Curbs organised by Paul Forster and I seem to remember that you can’t kick off before 10.00am. Space / work commitments permitting I would like to come along to see if I could stay on the track this time Steve - Orange and Black ex Academy
A10ROX Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Hi Rob UPDATE ☹️ I've got to be only a possible at the moment ... the Nitrons have yet to arrive ☹️ ... I'll chase DT and then Mr MAcFarlane who will be fitting them ... Just been told delivery is w/c 19th December ☹️ ☹️ So on the current date I'm not going to be able to be there Regards David A10ROX now garaged with D10ROX (Red GT3)!
