SV Gary Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 If I go to Caterham I have to buy the frame as well ☹️ The lead dog always gets the best view.
jono Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Tyneside autoglass make the caterham screens I belive
mav Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Pilkington make the SV windscreen glass and will not supply direct. My brother works for Pilk Auto and he can't even get me one. If you have insurance, why not claim on that if yours is broken?
SV Gary Posted October 31, 2007 Author Posted October 31, 2007 When I took out Caterham insurance I took the track insurance option rather than the windscreen option - so no windscreen insurance ☹️ and it's £400 for a full windscreen (glass and frame) from Caterham ☹️ ☹️ Thanks anyway The lead dog always gets the best view.
MusCat Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I assume you want a heated windscreen. When I last bought one 2 1/2 years ago they used to supply non-heated glass without the frame.
Graham King Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Gary, do you need the heated screen, if not I would imagine you can get one made up from plain glass relatively cheaply, the frame is not difficult to remove just need to use a lot of washing up liquid (or similar) to ease refitting. John Ryan Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I needed an unheated one for my non-SV. I took the frame to the local Autoglass, they sent it to their specialist vehicle unit in Bristol. Back within a week, with new glass installed, for about £70. I am sure they would have no problem with an SV, as they cut to fit the frame you provide.

SV Gary Posted October 31, 2007 Author Posted October 31, 2007 Thanks for the advice everyone - looks like a call/visit to Autoglass The lead dog always gets the best view.
