MarkyMarc Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Changed the A frame bush for the first time yesterday as it was looking a bit worn - easy enough. However, when I initially lowered the frame away from the diff, I was surprised to find that the frame was turning against the rubber in the front bushes i.e. it had some spring in it! I had expected it to rotate more or less freely, like a suspension bush. Is this normal, or an indication that the bushes have siezed on the locating bolts? Cheers, Marc Edited by - MarkyMarc on 28 Oct 2007 09:49:32
Pezky Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Hi Marc Mine does the same. See if you can upgrade to a spherical joint on the diff/a-frame joint, never have to change them again. Jonathan
philwaters Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Perfectly normal - when you tighten the suspension bolts on a metal/rubber/metal bush you are effectively fixing the middle bit of metal to the car and all further movement is in the rubber section. This is why you should always leave the bolts loose until the car is it's wheels and then torque things up. Phil Waters
