David Lynch Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Hmm... Decided to strip down my starter (Magneton 9141 380 Starter Motor) and the Balekite cap on the back of the Solenoid Coil cracked just below where main cable enters . At least I now know how a Starter works. Can you get the solenoid part only or is it full replacement time ☹️ Seems fine (reassembled and superglued to seal for now, working OK) Just not enough cranking power coming from my Red Top 20 (that lives on an Optimate) Looks like something else is sapping it as jumped fine off my Leon I must remember that I'm in public
CageyH Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 You can buy new solenoids. Have a search for a thread with part numbers etc. in. Only dead fish go with the flow....!
