Roadsport06 Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 I have managed to get the zipper off the zip when zipping up the rear screen. I have managed to get it back on but the zip isn't closing together. I live in the west mids are there any places that I could take it to for a new zip? Many thanks James
Grebby Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Send it to Jill Judd and ask to have it replaced by velcro. That's what I did when I bust mine. Works much better. Ian
j passfield Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Before you do anything drastic, try gently squeezing the "slider" together with a pair of pliers, I saved my very expensive Rukka motorycle jacket in this way and have since repaired one or two of the kids' coats like this.
Roadsport06 Posted October 19, 2007 Author Posted October 19, 2007 Thank you both for your replies, I will give the pliers a go, but the velcro sounds like a very good idea. I'll let you know how I get on with the pliers. Ian, how much was it to get your hood velcroed by JJ? BRG and Yellow nose VU06 XZX
CageyH Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 A two way zip would be a good option as well. Oxted trimming would probably also fix it for you. Only dead fish go with the flow....!
Grebby Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 I think it was £37.50. I gave her £40 and tried to wonder off but she insisted that I have the change. That was collected though so you may have to add a bit if you want her to ship it back to you. It does still have the zip in there (broken) but it has velcro as well. It means that you can undo as much or as little of the rear window as required. Cheers Ian
Roadsport06 Posted October 26, 2007 Author Posted October 26, 2007 I contacted Jill and she said around £37.50 + carriage. Before parting with my hard earnt money I did as j passfield said, used some pliers and the zip is working Thanks j passfield, you've saved me a few quid BRG and Yellow nose VU06 XZX

Derail Rukka would have repaired it gratis and supplied a replacement whilst they did too. A brilliant company. /Derail
