LED indicator flasher unit problem

I have just tried fitting LED indicator bulbs along with an LED flasher unit all bought courtesey of ebay from Hong Kong. With the original flasher unit fitted the flash rate is very high with the hazard lights on and rediculously high with the indicators on. Generaly as I had expected.

 

When the LED flasher unit is fitted I get nothing at all.

Could it be the configuration of the 3 pins that is wrong? I would have thought that it would be a universal standard. The pins are labeled as follows:

That does not show the pins very well, but is cheaper!
