Julian Thompson Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Just following on from my data logging question - looking at the DL1 from Race Technology - if I wanted to overlay video onto the data logger but was not bothered about having the actual information overlayed onto the actual video playback screen would I still need the VOB product?
mav Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 I don't think you need the VOB as a separate option, just add the videao overlay option for £100 to the logger???
Julian Thompson Posted October 13, 2007 Author Posted October 13, 2007 Perfect. That looks a very cost effective solution....
mav Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Double check with them before you order, don't just take my word for it
Julian Thompson Posted October 13, 2007 Author Posted October 13, 2007 Actually I'm just playing with the software now using your data from Curborugh and I'm struggling with it to be honest. I've had three or four crashes so far when you select the realtime playback window and more importantly I can't seem to get the information I want. I think that is 100% because it is a pretty steep learning curve - I am sure it is a maassive piece of software but initial impressions are that it is not so user friendly for the novice? Can you tell me how to get a plot at a nice zoom level of two runs overlayed, speed VS time?
Julian Thompson Posted October 13, 2007 Author Posted October 13, 2007 Right - worked that out - actually for some reason it just started working on the XY graph - don't know what i did! Anyway - now I want to "time align" the two graphs at a point, so to speak. ie - click the map and have the graph aligned for the 2 runs at THAT point. IYSWIM?
mav Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 While since i played with the software. I'll go download it and have a play...
mav Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 I'm sure it is possible as that is what has been done in the big pdf you also have...
Julian Thompson Posted October 13, 2007 Author Posted October 13, 2007 Ah - I see - you click the map rather than the graph to do that Sorry. Waffling on. 😬
Julian Thompson Posted October 13, 2007 Author Posted October 13, 2007 No you don't - that just shows you where the two runs compare on the track map.
Julian Thompson Posted October 13, 2007 Author Posted October 13, 2007 Got it. You MUST define the lap start and end point so that the system can "align" the two traces
mav Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 they have a forum on there for pre sales q & a and support too Jue
