RobW Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Any ideas on which is best as this is one job I do not want to do again for a long time !!! 😬 Cheers, Rob
chrissy h Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 😬 if your car rides as low as mine your be doing it sooner than you think. go for silicone, put the sump on and do it up hand tight , let the silcone cure overnight and tighten next day. dont overtighten tho. good luck chris
RobW Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 ended up going with gasket seal - what an 🙆🏻 of a job ! If anyone reading this can't work out why the sump snags on the oil pickup , it,s because you have to undo the bolt holding it to the bottom of the engine (you have to do this through an inch and a half gap). The sump then drops - then you have to get it all on again !!! Anyway Sump is finally on as of 6.30 am, and just need to be filled , starter motor reattached and 50th all weekend.
