Neil_K Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I have what appears to be a thin layer of slimey gunge (colourless) in the coolant bottle on the flat section below the inlet pipe. Not wanting to instantly jump on the HGF band-wagon, is it something to be concerned about? Inside of cap seems OK. Could it just be manky old coolant? Engine is not particularly old (in miles terms) and always driven with consideration for temperatures etc - whether that makes a difference?
Dickie Normuss Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Have that in mine, always have. I wouldn't worry VX HPC - Loud and proud here Watch out, whatever hits the fan will not be distributed evenly
henry21p Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 The coolant system is where all the pixies and gremlins hide... hence the slime....
stevefoster Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 VX's always make the expansion tank brown but it usually goes no further. If it's a K and the coolant level has been low for whatever reason keep an particular eye on it, and particularly if overpressurising / water loss. Edited by - stevefoster on 12 Sep 2007 18:21:54
