I think I need to sort my weber 45s out. They have not been touched for a couple of years and I am guessing they are well out.

I am going to buy an airflow thingy but I need to know what screws to turn etc.

Is there an idiots guild to balancing / running to rich etc for webers anywhere?

Fancy having a go myself but have no idea what does what and what to do!!!!!!!!

Nic,

You need top get yourself a copy of the Haynes Manual - Weber Carburettors Owners Workshop Manual. ISBN 1 85010 061 6. It has a load of info on Tuning , as well as how to take them apart and reassemble, if you are feeling brave 😳

A quick search via Google shows there are copies still for sale,

Being a tight git I went to the liarary but they only have one copy so will not lend it!!! so I will have to put my hands in my deep pockets and buy it now.

Also been around so many motor factors to try and buy an airflow meter but no one sells them anymore.

Hi Nic

Caterham used to have the Carburettor Balancing tools (Synchrometers), but not sure if they still sell them. The part number when I bought mine for my 40's was 98001.000 and it cost £38.21 + VAT + P&P. In fact I used mine at the weekend. I think you can only adjust the balance, Idle Mixture screws and idle speed on the 40's and I assume the 45's are the same but just bigger!

Dave H is right about the book being good though.

Good luck
