Simon Owen Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Dear All, Just swopped wheels & tyres as above, very pleased with the result 😬 But ..... I have not managed to check the ride height yet, I suspect the rear is circa 20mm high with the fronts about the same as before. Do i need to be careful or is this very much fine tuning, obviously I will sort it but in the meantine i do not want to end up in a ditch ☹️ Is it easy to do & is anybody free this afternoon ❗ ❗ ❗ ❗ I suspect the difference on the road will be marginal but some comfort from you guys would be appreciated. Cheers, Simon
Tom_C Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Lifting the rear of mine by 15mm made it very much more pointy at the front and loose at the back, so if you've gained 20mm rake I'd tread a bit carefully BTW please give generously to Bundle's Big Charity Walk for Asthma research here Ta. Simon Owen Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 Tom, Thanks .. now you've got me worried How long do recon it would take to drop the rear, may try to bag it today if I can Cheers, Simon
Tom_C Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Took me about 20 mins per side to raise it on mine. I assume you've got adjustable platforms? BTW please give generously to Bundle's Big Charity Walk for Asthma research here Ta. Cheers Tom FH54WLX see here - UPDATED again
Simon Owen Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 Tom, Thanks, sounds fairly easy. Yes to adjustable platforms, no to any special tools for the job so not sure if I can do it at the moment ? Cheers, Simon
Grubbster Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Not sure you need special tools - depends what type of adjuster rings you have. The newer type have holes in so you can adjust with a stubby screwdriver rather than a c-spanner
