FlymoFraser Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Thanks to all of you at Curborough last time for being on your best behaviour, you clearly impressed Wifey on her first visit to a motor racing venue. I shared with some of you my nervousness of her potential reaction. Well this morning she suggests I get a trailer as it might be fun to come along with the kids to a few events next year *eek* *eek* I'm still in shock 😬 R287 Mobile Jaffa Cake- It's black at both ends with a smashing orangey bit in the middle here
Don Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Hmmm wonder if I should suggest to her that it'd be more fun for her if she actually took part herself .... 😬
FlymoFraser Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 Windy, please do, Mrs EMiW did but as Wifey hasn't actually been in the car whilst moving and refuses to , I think we have a way to go on that journey 😬 There is also the slight logistical issue of childcare facilities for a 3 and 6 year old, did I miss the "Curborough Creche" 🤔
Don Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 3 might be a bit young, but our son (now 10) accompanies us to most events and has done since he was 8. But, if you're not in class 5 at Curborough then I'd be happy to keep an eye on them whilst you're sprinting ... and if the event's during the school hols my daughter can provide more hands on assistance if required!! You need to get your wife behind the wheel ... although bear in mind, once she's hooked you'll be nagged all the time about getting upgrades !!
GregP Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Echo that Windycat, since Kristy started sharing my car, I keep being asked what we can do to make it quicker next year 😬 After two events, she's hooked. I think what's helped is the fantastic cameraderie between all of the competitors but particularly the ladies. I can also recommend a trailer. we towed for the first time to Curbourough and sitting on the line for the last run knowing you could push to the limit as the car didn't have to convey you home was very liberating. Hopefully see you both next year, we're planning to be out to play much more often.
FlymoFraser Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 although bear in mind, once she's hooked you'll be nagged all the time about getting upgrades !! Such hardship 😬 😬
Area Representative Nick Chan Posted September 8, 2007 Area Representative Posted September 8, 2007 Neil, Glad to hear that wifey was most impressed. Our two boys have had an informal creche facility with the other kids around and taken them off to play at the top of the circuit but on the whole they are a little bit older. Echo what Greg and Windycat say about both getting behind the wheel, look what's happened to us... I have just been to get a part for the wiper motor for Trish's car so that the screen can be fitted for the long run to Norwich next week and she has told me not to bother fitting it until AFTER tomorrow's run to North Wales so she can drive her SLR with the JPE aeroscreen still. Me I am going in R400 with the full screen on! Cheers Nick The BEC has gone - now onto an R400!!
RussM Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Not only Miss Whiplash but Trailerboy as well, you must have been on good behaviour and been forgiven for the navigational errors on SWMBO's part on the way home..! See you at the 50th Russ
FlymoFraser Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 Russ shhhhh she doesn't know about Miss Whiplash yet. *wink* 😳
FlymoFraser Posted September 11, 2007 Author Posted September 11, 2007 I feel I should explain the Ms Whiplash reference before your imaginations become too lurid. I was sent a copy of a photo of my car in a previous life 😳 here Which , as you can imagine was a bit of a shock. I just hope I am giving her as racy year as she is clearly used to!
