Adam H Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I sourced a replacement VDO electrical oil pressure sender for my 1994 1400SS earlier this week only to try and fit it last night and find that the threaded end is too large for the threaded hole. I spoke to the guy at Redline who supplied the new part and he said that Caterham had used 3 different thread sized components over the years. Obviously this is not helpful to me. Looking on the Thinkauto website, it looks like they sell a range of adaptors. Would it be possible to fit my new large bolted sender unit into the small hole via a hollow step-down threaded adaptor? Even if possible, this seems like a bit of a bodge but I'm struggling to find a source of VDO sender units to call for further advice. Any help / advice appreciated. Cheers Adam 1400ss 6sp LSD
Stationary M25 Traveller Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Is it a Caerbont gauge ? They make the senders that are supplied to CC ****************** And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking... And racing around to come up behind you again. new link to photos
Adam H Posted September 5, 2007 Author Posted September 5, 2007 No it's a VDO guage, 0-10 bar jobby. When I called to order the part I was asked if it was VDO, then whether 0-5 or 0-10 bar and that was it. I assumed it would be straight forward from there ☹️ Adam 1400ss 6sp LSD
