SWMBO's 1991 mini needs a bit of a touch-up job here and there, but it has been sprayed a non-standard colour by one of the previous owners. ☹️

Any ideas how we go about getting the colour matched to an existing colour, so that she can set about (partially) restoring her pride and joy 🤔

Any suggestions welcome! *wavey*

I am not sure if a Mini has a fuel flap but if you can take a part of the body all the major paint suppliers have a service to match the color.

it is not free and will take a few days to get it matched because your sample have to be send to the division that matches the color and most easy is that you give your sample to a bodyshop they will now where to send it to.

It's what i do for a living but i am over in Belgium so thats not much help to you.

Come over to Option1 in bromsgrove where my bodywork's being done. Frank's an absolute magician. Had a box (wall?) full of colour swatches going back YEARS and a good eye for it as well.

Not sure how cost effective it would be depending on how much you need.

Have a look here from when I had to use swatches to match up Caterham yellow. They made me up a can on the spot.

Where am I?

A swatch is not 100% but can be very close, a color match is spot on especially under different light sources

For Caterham yellow ( gelcoat ) i used Vaxhall paint code 51 Cargo yellow, that's not to far off the gelcoat color.
