Just back from a weeks holiday to find I can't start the Seven, ignition lights come on, but nasty clicking when I try to start her up. It did this once before, after a 20 minute run, and rocking the car in second seemed to clear it, but not this time.

I am guessing at a failing starter motor, but anyone else have any ideas? The car is a VX 2.0 injection HPC 1993

Your battery sounds like it hasn't got enough poke to turn the starter motor properly. Try a jump start from another car

I'd check the battery and if that's ok start looking for bad contacts
