fuel consumption?

took the car on the track not long ago, the only flaw was the driver. the fuel consumption does not bother me too much, you fill it up and drive when the guage shows zero you fill it up again.

having filled the car up, drove to the track, maybe 5 miles away and continued to do the track. 30 miles where clocked up prior to the journey home, with 14litres used.

not that i'm good at maths but under 10 mpg. is that normal for R400 duratec.

Dunno, but we did 150 miles at Spa and used 60 litres of fuel.

It was wet on the second day (club day) so will have been going slower so better consumption

 

We'll see how it goes at Brands, assuming it's not too noisey...

If I give my K-series full beans it will return under 6mpg! - And the map is spot on!

 

But who cares? Petrol is not the biggest expense when you drive it like that.

Yup under 10mpg is pretty normal if you're trying on track. My old 1800xflow used to do about 4mpg when I was racing! not bad for 180ish bhp and 8 valves.

with a R400 (K) 6mpg would not be untypical

It's a good job that Sustainability is about Social as well as Economic & Environmental issues

 

A10ROX:OK, its an R500 without the magnesium bits sump etc and only 205bhp!

I know - my K usually returns about 9 mpg on track...

Never worked out the mpg but mine is definitely thirsty on track.........I can get through between 1 and 2 tankfuls on our local trackdays depending on how much I'm out on track.

 

It's also thirsty on the road when driven hard as well 😬

 

Normal driving sees about 200 miles to a tank. A spot of spirited driving in USA nearly left me stranded in the middle of arizona.......that tank only only managed less than 150 miles.

 

Happiness is a steady supply of fuel and soft compound 48's

about 6-9mpg on track depending on the % of full throttle . I would expect Spa to be very high %

Not track consumption to be fair but exclusive use at max blatting speed sees 31mpg out of the fireblade 😬

 

We take the piss out of brother Tony in his 190zetec as he can typically go only half as far at the same pace. I think he has tanker escort.

 

Blade might drop to 20's on track
