Molecular--Bob Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Having fixed my exhaust mount, i have a new noise to contend with. A sort of dry scrape which is speed dependant, coming from the back, seems to be worse under cornering load. The car is a 1990 De dion. I guess the candidates are: 1. Failing wheel bearing 2. Drive shaft giving up 3. Diff breaking up I also have some diff noise that i assume is the LSD clanking around, as it is mostly on the overrun and when on light throttle. The noises are definatly from the rear but hard to pin down. Anything else i should consider
alan7 Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Bob Could be wheel bearing, is it worse on left or right hand bends, that should help pin point the side. LSD do make weird & wonderful noises How do you get the dead flies off your teeth....... 😬 R5AAH
