As a new boy my 1600VX simply flies up to 80 and then it seems like a wall; is this normal?

 

Is this when I need BHP? 😬

Quite normal if you have a VX engine 😬

1.6K series exactly the same. CD of 0.62 - 0.67 for the Seven is mostly to blame.

 

But can't help thinking you are worrying about nothing. The fun of a Seven is how quickly you got to 80 in the first place, how late you can brake for the corner and how bl**dy fast you took that roundabout compared to that rep in the tin-top 😬 (and M.K. has LOT of roundabouts!).

Stick a low diff ratio and it storms up to 100 (where condition allow and where it is allowed - obviously) and then slows down on the acceleration a bit until it hits the limiter . . in 6th . . . with a screen. In a 1.6 K. On the flat.

Had the same problem with my 1600x/flow (100bhp) soon cured with a bit of Roger King fettling (and wallet lightening *eek*) to 150bhp. Now gets to 90-100 alarmingly quickly 😬
