Sheds Moderator Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 7s have rubbish aerodynamics. Beyond a certain spped light weight counts for nothing and it's all about pushing the shape through the air, and this needs power. The screen (aka airbrake) doesn't help.
gin-fizz-whizz Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 1.6K series exactly the same. CD of 0.62 - 0.67 for the Seven is mostly to blame. But can't help thinking you are worrying about nothing. The fun of a Seven is how quickly you got to 80 in the first place, how late you can brake for the corner and how bl**dy fast you took that roundabout compared to that rep in the tin-top 😬 (and M.K. has LOT of roundabouts!).   Blue Roadsport with silver stripe. . . . .it does exactly what it says on the tin!  Edited by - gin-fizz-whizz on 23 Aug 2007 16:20:05
Bricol Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Stick a low diff ratio and it storms up to 100 (where condition allow and where it is allowed - obviously) and then slows down on the acceleration a bit until it hits the limiter . . in 6th . . . with a screen. In a 1.6 K. On the flat. 😬 Bri Â
Pezky Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Had the same problem with my 1600x/flow (100bhp) soon cured with a bit of Roger King fettling (and wallet lightening ) to 150bhp. Now gets to 90-100 alarmingly quickly 😬 Â
