zetec water temp sender +VDO instruments

I have always used my old XF water temp sender (and always had a small leak with it coupled to the Ford thermostat housing). Is anyone out there able to advise which sender is compatible with both the oE thermostat housing and the VDO instruments?

A VDO one is usually the most compatable with VDO intruments 😬

 

Usually a 1/8 NPT thread.

 

Try using a little PTFE tape on the thread.

 

Maybe the thread in the housing is overcooked?

The housing itself is split, i think because the sender isn't the right thread
