scooter Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Has anyone tried these, or know someone who has experience of fitting them? Would be handy to know how difficult the mounting brackets would be to fabricate before I go and spend money (again!) on something that will not work!
Tom_C Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I know a couple of people that have fitted them to non caterham kitcars who seem pretty happy. Dunno if that helps you much... BTW please give generously to Bundle's Big Charity Walk for Asthma research here Ta. Cheers Tom FH54WLX see here - UPDATED again
Rob Walker Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Tony Thorpe has fitted them onto his LA Caterham he has also fitted an ford axle. I understand that he is very pleased with them. It is the only serious handbrake arrangement within a twin or four pot caliper that applies even pressure to each pad. The High spec only works on one pad and puts a side /thrust load on the disc which is not good engineering. I can`t see why the willwood would be a problem to mount on the de dion ear.
scooter Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 Cheers - I'm going to order a pair so will let you know how it goes! They're £119 + vat (each caliper) but if anyone else wants a pair, then let me know as an order for 2 is £99 + vat (each caliper).
