viperbl Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I believe its best to drill some new holes in the sump gasket to help oil flow? Don't suppose someone can tell me where abouts? Cheers Rich
Ray Pearce Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 All is explained in this thread here which includes a link to a photo by DVA which shows theholes
Stationary M25 Traveller Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Have you also removed the Devil's Spawn (sump foam) too ? ****************** And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking... And racing around to come up behind you again. new link to photos
viperbl Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 No, I was going to leave the foam, its still in good shape... Why would I want to remove it???!
oilyhands Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Because it breaks up, blocks the pickup and then your engine quickly destroys itself. I have seen 20 or so engines do this and a further 30 or so well on the way. Oily
Stationary M25 Traveller Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 ... convincing argument ****************** And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking... And racing around to come up behind you again. new link to photos
viperbl Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 Sounds bad enough to me! So, just remove and do not replace with anything?????
Stationary M25 Traveller Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 yup ****************** And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking... And racing around to come up behind you again. new link to photos
Stationary M25 Traveller Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 ... and there's also the bashing-some-dents-in-the-face-of-the-oil-pick-up between the raised pimples to improve the oil flow. Searching TechTalk will reveal this too. ****************** And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking... And racing around to come up behind you again. new link to photos
