McBreadhead Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 I can't seem to rouse Accralite from their slumber at the moment, nor Burtons, and need some technical info. I am looking at using their 85mm pistons in an AX blocked xflow, in theory to displace 1760cc. Currently I'm running unusual sized 84.5mm pistons and the bores need taking out to suit the 85mm as they are worn beyond limits. Does anyone know what the required bore sizes are for these pistons? Is it in the region of 85mm +0.02 to +0.1mm. Or is the piston slightly undersize? Clearly I need to wait for Accralite to specify exactly but at the moment I just want a rough idea. Reason is I need to instruct machine shop to rebore and want know if there's going to be enough meat left. Also I am running a Burton Stage 4 big valve head and assume Accralite would supply pistons to suit valve clearances. Is there anything specific I need to check? Thanks o wise wuns
Revin Kevin Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Bread, With accrillites 85mm is the bore size, clearance is in the pistons. The 85mm accrillites Burton supply come with fairly large cut outs but you should always check! Cheers Chris
